First Class Newsletter Issue 3/2005
First Class Development
There is now a "Scheduled Absence" button on the "Edit Rolls" screen, allowing
you to enter absences in advance. You can set a date range, which could
be just one day, for the absence, and apply it to more than one student.
Electronic Roll Marking - A+ Development
New feature for schools with a wireless network
The growing user base of Human Edge's electronic roll marking package A+ continues. For those with a wireless network, A+ will now use "Direct Connect". This means...
Changes will be uploaded, and thus available, in both First Class and First Class Web, immediately they are saved on the PDA.
Any data entered either through "Edit Rolls" in First Class, or First Class Web, is immediately available to the PDAs.
Hence, instead of having to synchronize using a cradle, which means data entered on the PDA would not be available yet, no further synchronization is needed.
The PDA will only upload data needed, thus reducing network traffic.
This will make the exchange of data faster.
You will be able to run more PDAs.
