A+ - Electronic Roll Marking (including SMS)
Kiosk Mode
The announced inclusion of Kiosk Mode into A+ has now been completed. This feature adds security to A+ because it stops students from accessing other, perhaps sensitive, areas on the PDA, playing games, or, exiting A+. If the "reset" button is pressed, A+ will start up automatically (thus closing one possible way for students to access the PDA). It also makes A+ take up the full screen on the PDA, and disables all the buttons that you normally see.
If you are a school in Melbourne, and would like to see A+ in action, there is a "show and tell" session at Northcote High School on Wednesday May 25 2005 at 4pm. For further details click on the following link.

Product development
Development is in progress for clash resolution in rolls coming in from different PDAs. This means that if a different result for a student is reported from two different sources, you will be asked which one you wish to accept.
There will be major changes to the Reports in A+. Some are being modified for clearer use and several new reports are being added. These include modifications to:
Daily Absences.
Attendances by Student.
Reason Summary.
Attendance Rate.
To streamline some common reporting options we will be grouping the Reason Summary and Reason Summary by Period reports under the one report selection screen. Similarly the Daily Absences and Today's Absences will also be grouped. The Absence Reason Grid report will be dropped from the program and the information from this report will now be made available as part of the Reason Summary Report.
And new reports:
Overview of Student Attendance. This is a one page per student report illustrating attendance activity for that student for the term or year, for example to be used at Parent Teacher nights or for marking the student's final grade.
Request Explanation. This would be a formatted letter to send out to the parent's of students that have unexplained absences, informing the parents of the details and asking them to provide an explanation for each absence.
Grid Monthly Attendance - showing student attendance activity for the month (or date range) using the First Class format (xxxX__, where "X" means an unapproved absence, "x" an approved absence and "_" indicates present).
Grid Monthly Attendance drill down - a drill down on the previous report showing detail, e.g. Period, Class, Teacher.
Grid Form Analysis - an overview of attendance performance in grid format for each form for a given date range with the facility to drill down to gain more detailed information.
Grid Class Analysis By Student - an overview of attendance performance in grid format for each subject for a given date range with the facility to drill down to gain more detailed information.
Did you know?

| 4. |
Select the student whose choices you wish to amend by either double-clicking on them, or, click once and click "OK".
