Part-time teachers as Emergency teachers
A situation that you may have come across is the part-time teacher who also teaches as an emergency teacher on their days off. If there are teachers at your school in this situation you need to enter them twice, with different codes (surnames and first names can be the same).
The code that represents the regular teacher should have NO in the Emergency field, and be made "Unavailable" on days where they are not taking regular classes. The Emergency code should have YES in the Emergency field, and be marked as "Unavailable" on days where they are taking regular classes.
For more details on entering teachers and making teachers unavailable, see the appropriate sections in the Help menu for First Class.
How do I handle error messages?
From time-to-time, a procedure that you follow may generate an error message.
This first error message is very important. You should always follow this procedure:
Click on MORE
Use mouse-drag to highlight all the text in the message
Press CTRL-C to copy the text
Paste the copied text into an e-mail message and send it to us
Please note that clicking on CLOSE and sending us a subsequent error message is not sufficient. If you do this you will have to send us the "errorlog.txt" in the First Class sub-directory as an attachment.

Need a break? Why not visit the Getaway website for some inspiration and great deals…
The Getaway website is based on the Channel 9 TV show of the same name. There is a Hot Deals section that features some amazing discounted rates for holidays within Australia and overseas.
If you need information about Visa requirements for a particular country, a currency converter or health and medical information the Travel Tools menu is very handy. It contains links to other sites such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Travel Doctor so you can be assured of receiving up to date information before you travel.
The Destination section of the website provides you with a guide to a different destination each week. It contains information about some of the main attractions/regions of the featured destination as well as advice about the best time to visit, weather information, maps and health/medical information. Photographs are also included for inspiration!
So, even you can’t get away from it all during the school holidays, at least you can dream…
