  Another Happy First Class User!

At Human Edge we are always eager to hear your feedback about our products and level of service, be it good, bad or otherwise. We love to hear from all of our customers because it is the best way to ensure that we are giving you what you need.

The following is an example of feedback about the latest version of First Class:

"Being a fairly small school, there are problems encountered in delivering to our students a diverse curriculum. The power of First Class has enabled us to find solutions to these problems. It enables us to experiment with different scenarios and quickly discover if our strategies can generate a workable timetable. We have been using First Class for a number of years now and are very impressed with the new facilities provided by the new version.

We at Punchbowl Boys High School are also very grateful for the help and support provided by Robert & Gary at Human Edge."

What the different buttons on the Reports toolbar do?

The first button is a CONTENTS button. This can be very useful if you need to locate a particular item in a large report. Open out the list of contents and click on the item you are looking for.
The second button is for PRINTING the report
The third one is a COPY button, which allows you to copy the details of the report as text and paste it into another document (for example a Microsoft Word document). The report can then be formatted to suit your needs.
The fourth is a FIND button, which can be used to find text such as a student's name in a report. The method for using this button was discussed in Issue 36 of the First Class Newsletter.
First Class Newsletter Issue 36
The next two buttons allow you to display either a single page of the report, or multiple pages
Next are the zoom out and zoom in buttons. You can either set your own zoom factor by highlighting the number, typing a replacement number and pressing ENTER, or select a standard zoom by clicking on the drop-arrow.
Last are the PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN buttons. Again, in the last box, you can overtype the current page number with the one you wish to go to and press ENTER.

  Website of the Week

www.stateart.com.au

Are you interested in all things "arty"? If so, the State of the Arts website is well worth a visit.

The website features articles about arts events in all states and territories across Australia in the categories of visual arts, performing arts, music and film. There is also an Arts in the Media page listing upcoming arts programs on television to help you plan your weekly viewing! Use the Arts Directory to go to other arts related websites such as theatre and dance companies, bookshops, music vendors, cinemas and even travel and tourism services.

Another feature that may make this website a favourite is the Giveaways page. It features competitions to win tickets to arts events such as plays, exhibitions and dance performances. Some of the competitions also give you the opportunity to be creative, such as the current Testimony competition that requires you to write a poem about jazz to enter.

So whether you want to unleash your own creativity by entering a competition or simply experience the creativity of others, the State of the Arts website is a great source of arts related information.
