The specifications below are the minimum requirements to run FirstClass. Computers with specifications higher than the ones shown here will give better performance. As a guide, computer equipment that was purchased new within the last 2 years will generally be capable of running FirstClass.

Minimum System Requirements

For FirstClass

	Windows NT, 2000 or XP Professional with Minimum of 256Mb RAM, but 512Mb or better is recommended
	Pentium II processor or better
	100 Mb of free disk space
	Video card that allows for a monitor display of at least 800x600 with small fonts, but 1024x768 is recommended
	CD-ROM or Internet connection

	Internet Explorer v5.0, but v6 would be better for added security.
	If the FirstClass computer can have IIS installed, it can serve as the FirstClass web server, however a separate web server is recommended.

	A server with MS Windows 2000 or XP, with 512Mb RAM, 1GHz processor and 500Mb free disk space
	SQL Server 2000 or MSDE 2000
	The computer that will connect the PDAs with A+ must have a free USB port

Backing Up
The importance of adequate backups and a Disaster Recovery Plan cannot be overemphasised.

Printing
A4 Single sheet feed printers. Laser printers are recommended.
