  1800 Support Number Disconnected

The old 1800 support number has now been disconnected. To call the support centre for the cost of a local call you should now call 1300 301 931, which is available Australia wide. If you need to call from a mobile phone then please call 03 9690 5004. Please record both of these numbers in a handy position.

  How Do I?

How do I enter the Staff Funding Code?

The Staff Funding Code is a field on the MAINTENANCE>EMPLOYEE DETAILS form and is included on the Employee Details Report.

If Pay2k is linked to SAS2000

There is a link to the Staff Funding Code information in SAS2000 in the same way as there is a link between Pay2k and SAS2000 for the GL Account Codes.

Instructions for entering the Staff Funding Code are as follows:

Enter or Import the appropriate Staff Funding Codes into SAS2000. (For instructions on how to do this, refer to Issue 45 of the SAS2000 Newsletter.)
In Pay2k, go to MAINTENANCE>EMPLOYEE DETAILS and call up the EMPLOYEE RECORD
Edit the record and click on the > button to the left of the STAFF FUNDING CODE field
This will bring up the list of Staff Funding Codes that are available from SAS2000
Select the appropriate code for the employee and click on SAVE

If Pay2k is not linked to SAS2000

The Staff Funding Code is a manual entry field and no list of codes will be available to select from.

Instructions for entering the Staff Funding Code are as follows:

In Pay2k go to MAINTENANCE>EMPLOYEE DETAILS and call up the EMPLOYEE RECORD
Edit the record and type the appropriate Staff Funding Code into the Staff Funding Code Field

The Staff Funding Code is included in the information that prints on the Employee Details Report. To run the report go to REPORTS>EMPLOYEE DETAILS. The Staff Funding Code prints as part of the DETAILS section of this report.

Most of us would be aware of the bushfires currently burning in south eastern Australia as they have featured prominently in the media. Some of our readers may have been unfortunate enough to have experienced them first hand. The extent of the problem is immediately obvious from satellite images on the Earth Observatory website.

The Natural Hazards icon on the site’s home page will take you to a map of the world that has various symbols indicating where natural hazards are currently occurring. If you click on the symbol for bushfires in Australia you will be taken to a satellite image showing the extent of the bushfires and the smoke rising from them.

Other items of interest include the Experiments section of the website which contains "interactive experiments that can be used to teach all ages about the art and science of space-based Remote Sensing." Remote Sensing is used by NASA to study how and why the earth changes.

The Blue Marble is a spectacular view of the earth that has been compiled from surface observations collected from June to October 2001. There is a detailed explanation of the data used to make up this image and how it was collected, as well as an animated image of the earth turning.

As you can imagine, these are only a few features of this fascinating site. There is also a Resources section containing many useful links, a Newsroom and information about current missions. If you and/or your students have an interest in how our earth is changing spend some time browsing the site. You will be fascinated by what you learn!
