  How Do I?

How do I set up Pay2k to be able to send pays through EFT?

Pay2k has the facility to create an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) file for the pay run. The file produced is an Australian Banking Association standard and can be imported into your online banking software to transfer the details of the payments.

Set up

Go to MAINTENANCE>SYSTEM PARAMETERS
Complete the middle section of this form with the heading BANK DETAILS FOR EFT and SAVE.
Note: The BSB number should have the hyphen (-) entered as part of the number, eg 063-254
Go to MAINTENANCE>EMPLOYEE DETAILS
Call up the record for an employee who is being paid by EFT
On the PAY SPLIT tab select the Pay Method ELECTRONIC and enter the details for the employee's Bank Account.
Note: The BSB number should have the hyphen (-) entered as part of the number, eg 063-254
Repeat this process for each employee who is for being paid by EFT

Processing

Process the payroll in the normal way. Once you have run the Payroll Update process:

Go to PAYROLL>ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER
Enter the DATE TO BE PROCESSED
If the bank requires a self balancing record to be entered in the EFT file, make sure the INCLUDE SELF BALANCE RECORD tick box has been ticked
Ensure the path and file name for the EFT file has been entered. The file name can only be 8 characters in length and the extension must be .aba, eg the file name could be NAB.aba
PRINT the report and check it to ensure that everything is correct
Click on CREATE EFT FILE. This will create the EFT file and save it to the location specified at the time the export is run.
This EFT file can then be imported into your Electronic Banking Software. Refer to the instructions for your Banking software for how to do this.

  Website of the Week

www.realestate.com.au

If you are planning to buy a new house or apartment, selling your current home, or simply moving to a new rental property, this website is a great place to start.

If you have never purchased property before you may find that the terms and abbreviations used by real estate agents can be quite confusing. The Tools and Resources section of this website has a list of abbreviations and real estate terms, as well as some frequently asked questions. Consult these and you should be an expert in next to no time!

Searches can be conducted to find both properties for rent and properties for sale. All you need to do is specify your price range (for rent per week or purchase price), the type of building you wish to live in (apartment, unit, house, etc) and the suburb you wish to buy/rent in. The search will then return a list of properties that satisfy your criteria. The advantage of using this website, as opposed to the websites of individual agents, is that it provides you with a larger list of properties, managed by different agents.

If you need to arrange a home loan, the Home Loan Offers section is worth a look. It provides links to information from different finance providers as well as links to loan comparison services. The Handy Calculators are also a great tool and can help you work out loan repayments, stamp duty, extra loan repayments and many other financial issues.

Once again, the features discussed above are just a few of the great aspects of this website. It’s a great resource to have at your fingertips!
