  How Do I...?

The superannuation is not calculating on an employee’s pay, how do I fix this?

The most likely cause of this is that the Normal Time Code used for the employee has not been marked as affecting the calculation of employer super. To check this:
Make a note of the Normal Time Transaction Code that is used for the employee
Go to MAINTENANCE>TRANSACTION TYPES and call up this Normal Time Transaction Code
Check and make sure that the Affects Calculation Of Employer Super box is ticked
If not, edit the Transaction Code and tick this field. This tick box identifies the items that are to be used as the basis of the employee's superannuation calculation

Note: All transactions can be marked to affect employer super. An easy way of deciding whether or not to tick the box is to ask yourself the following question:

"Does this Allowance (or Deduction) affect employer super?"

If you answer YES then you should tick the Affects Calculation of Employer Super option. An allowance increases the base on which superannuation is calculated, and a deduction reduces the base on which superannuation is calculated.

  Your Comments and Feedback

We have been receiving positive comments about the weekly newsletters - this has been great, and thank you to everyone who has contributed. If you wish to have some aspect of the software dealt with in this newsletter format then please let us know. Alternatively, if you have found a way to do something in the system that you feel would help others and you would like to share that information we'd be happy to include that in the newsletters also - either including your name and school or anonymously!
