  Training Pricing

As of 1st September 2002, Human Edge will have standardised training prices across the board. We now have set half-day and full day training rates that apply to all our software packages, and a new multi-booking discount structure that means the more sessions you book at one time the cheaper it becomes. Each additional booking made at the same time receives an additional 10% off the full training price. This means:

1st booking Full Price
2nd booking 10% off Full Price
3rd booking 20% off Full Price
4th booking 30% off Full Price

If you book 10 sessions at once, you or someone from your school can attend an 11th session FREE!

  How Do I?

How do I use Companies in Pay2k?

Pay2k allows you to run multiple payroll databases. These can be archival copies of previous years or even databases for different companies.

The Companies area in Pay2k is used to:

Control which databases are automatically visible when you go to FILE>OPEN
Give the database an easily identifiable name that will be visible under FILE>OPEN
Set which Pay2k database opens when you first log in

To access the Companies section in Pay2k, go to FILE>COMPANIES. The top section of the Companies form is a database list. This lists all the databases that Pay2k has previously opened.

The first column in this area is called ACTIVE and has a tick box for each database. The tick box is used to set the database as being Active. If a database is Active (the box is ticked) it will appear in the FILE>OPEN area for quick selection.

Other features of this area are:

The ADD button which lets you add a database to the Company list
The EDIT button which lets you specify or change the display name of a database to make it easy to identify the database
The REMOVE button which removes the selected database from the list. The database is still available but it will no longer automatically appear as available for selection in FILE>OPEN.

The AT STARTUP section of the form lets you specify how you want Pay2k to open. Three options are available:

ALWAYS OPEN THE SAME DATABASE
With this option you need to specify the database that is to be opened in the field at the end of this line. Any time you open up Pay2k it will open in this database.
OPEN MOST RECENTLY OPENED DATABASE
Any time you open up Pay2k it will open in the last payroll database you were using. This means that if the last time you were in Pay2k you were in a sample database, the next time you open up Pay2k it will open up in the sample database.
DO NOT OPEN A DATABASE
With this option no database will be opened when you start Pay2k. You will need to go to FILE>OPEN, select the appropriate database and login.

There is also an option to AUTOMATICALLY ADD NEW DATABASES TO THE LIST. If this option is ticked, then any time you open up a new database in Pay2k its name will be included in the list under COMPANIES and in FILE>OPEN as another option that is available for selection.

For example, if you open up a backup copy of the database to check some information the backup database will be added to the list of available databases for quick selection. If the AUTOMATICALLY ADD NEW DATABASE option is unticked then you will need to go to FILE>COMPANIES and ADD the database to the Database List area manually.

Would you like to improve your vocabulary?

The Wordsmith website offers a simple way of doing this by sending you a new word each day. All you need to do is click on the A Word A Day link on the website’s homepage and then click on the subscribe link.

Once you have subscribed you will receive a daily email containing a new word, pronunciation information, an example of its use and other interesting information about the word. There is even an audio clip so you can hear the word being spoken. The words selected are usually based on a theme each week and past words are included in an online archive.
