A Sneak Preview of the Next Release for SAS2000
Our next release of SAS2000 is currently being tested and will be available soon. The following is a sample of the new features and functions to whet your appetite!
 |
The ability to quickly select which creditor bills are to be paid in the next payment run. This will reduce the time required to process the creditor payment, as instead of selecting each creditor individually for payment, a list of all unpaid bills will displayed. It is then just a process of ticking the bills that are to be paid and clicking on a button to create the payments for all these bills. Quick and simple!
The ability to specify the amount that is to be paid on a particular bill (in the event that you are making part payment) will also be available.
The option to either select all bills, or just select bills due on a certain date will be provided. This should speed up processing time considerably as you will not need to select each creditor individually.

The way the cascade address works is being changed so that it will show a listing of the Student Addresses, Family Residential and Mail Addresses and Contact Residential, Mail and Account To addresses that are the same as an address that has just been changed. You will then be able to select which of these addresses are to be updated to the new address and which are to be left as they are. This will provide a lot more control over the address cascade process and reduce processing time, as less checking of the address changes will be required to confirm which addresses have been updated.

How Do I?
How do I bill a Family Fee based on the number of children in the family?
Previously when the Family Fee varied based on the number of children in the family, a fee flag had to be set up on the Family Record to mark which Family Fee each family should receive. Each year the fee flag needed to be checked to ensure that it still matched the number of children attending the school.
An additional Fees Applied By option has been added to the Family Fees area in SAS2000 for Students in Family. The Students in Family option is linked to the Students field on the PEOPLE>FAMILY tab.
This option will make billing Family Fees easier as the Students field is updated automatically by SAS2000 when students are enrolled or archived.
To Add a new Family Fee that uses the STUDENTS IN FAMILY option:
 |
Go to FEES>FAMILY FEE
|
 |

Website of the Week
http://www.abc.net.au/wordmap/
If you have spent any time in different states and territories within Australia you may have found yourself in a situation where you were totally confused about what someone was saying to you!
The Word Map website explains regionalisms, which are words, phrases or expressions used by particular communities in different parts of Australia. It’s quite fascinating to see how differently Australians can refer to the same thing. Some of them are quite amusing also!
There are a few different searches that you can perform on this website. If you have a particular word or phrase that you would like to find out about simply use the Word Search to see other words/phrases with the same meaning. You can also click on each of these for a dictionary definition and can even add your own comments and feedback. The Map Search allows you to click on a map of Australia and see a list of regionalisms for that area. If you would prefer to search alphabetically that is also an option.
Grammar, spelling, punctuation and pronunciation are all aspects of our language that have changed over time. The Word Vote is a poll that allows you to have your say about how you think a word or phrase should be spelt, punctuated or pronounced. You can also check to see how many other people agree with you!
If you have ever wondered what a "cossie" was, or not known how to respond when asked if you would like a glass of "chateau d
cardboard" the Word Map website is worth a visit.
