  How Do I?

How do I set the Fee Category on Fees?

Student Fees and Family Fees can be set as belonging to a certain category of fee in SAS2000. The categories that are available are:

Other
School Fee - Recurrent
School Fee - Capital
Compulsory Tuition Charges
Swimming Levy
Camp Levy
Sacrament Levy
Sports Levy
Excursions
Discount - Recurrent School Fees
Discount - Capital School Fees
Discount - Tuition Charges

The Fee Category is also available for Family Discounts but it is limited to the following categories:

Other
Discount - Recurrent School Fees
Discount - Capital School Fees
Discount - Tuition Charges

The Fee Categories are used to group fees together for reporting purposes and they do not affect the information that prints on the Bills, Receipts or Statements.

All Fees in SAS2000 will default to the category OTHER. To change the category for a Student fee:

Go to FEES>STUDENT FEES
Highlight the fee you want to adjust on the left side of the form to bring its details onto the screen
Change the category to the one required and click on SAVE
A prompt will appear asking 'Do you want to update the Fee Category for existing transactions that used this Fee?
'Select YES to apply the category to transactions that used this fee in the past

Select NO and this category will only apply to transactions that are created using this Fee from now on

Select CANCEL and you will be returned to the Student Fee form

Follow the same process to change the fee category for Family Fees and Family Discounts.

The Fee Category is used with the following reports in REPORTS>FEES

School Fee Reconciliation
Tuition Reconciliation
Fee Analysis Reports
Fee Credits Reports
Account Report

Kids spend a lot of time surfing the internet and chatting online. After all, the internet is a source of entertainment as much as it is an educational tool.

With the school holidays upon us, kids are probably going to spend more time than usual online. The Cybersmart Kids site is produced by the Australian Broadcasting authority and has useful tips for kids, teachers and parents to help protect them from the potential risks associated with surfing the worldwide web.

There is a handy list of Cybersmart Rules that can be printed and kept near the computer so that kids can refer to them as necessary. Once kids have read the rules ask them to take the Cybersmart Quiz. It will really help to reinforce each rule.

The links to Kids Coolsites are great and worth bookmarking. They range from fun entertainment and activity sites to help sites for homework and school projects. There are also links to sites that provide advice and assistance for their health and wellbeing.

The tips and links in the Cybersmart Parents section will help to make you aware of the risks faced by kids using the internet and give advice about how you can minimise these risks.

Safe and happy surfing!
