 Communication

As part of our effort to improve communication with clients we are redesigning our website.
Instead of sending you information as attachments to an email, information will be posted on our website where it will be available to be read or downloaded at any time.

The website will include new areas where:

Tips and Tricks documents will be available either as individual documents or as one document containing all Tips and Tricks that you can download at any time.
The Release Notes for recent software upgrades will be made available, so you can check what changes have been included in the latest software.
Training Course Dates and Course Content information can be checked. Bookings for the training courses will be available on-line.

We are planning to have the new website available by the end of February 2002 and will keep you up to date with content changes via e-mail.

The improvements to our communications are a constantly changing process and not everything will work out, so we welcome your feedback on the changes.

If there are any particular issues you would like addressed then please let us know. We will respond to emails within 1 working day.

 How Do I...?

How Do I Handle End of Financial Year?
SAS2000 is a date based system so you can continue to enter transactions into SAS2000 for the 2002 financial year without having run the End of Financial Year for 2001. When the End of Financial Year is run, only transactions that are in the date range for the 2001 Financial Year will be rolled over to create your opening balances for 2002.
We would advise that the End of Financial Year should not be run in SAS2000 until after the auditors have reviewed your accounts and given you approval for your 2001 Accounts. The reason for this is that the opening balances SAS2000 will create for the year 2002 cannot be changed once the End of Financial Year has been run.
How is the Date Range for the Financial Year determined?
In Maintenance, Setup, Accounting Periods you enter the Beginning Month and Ending Month for your Financial Year. How the Accounting Periods are set up will determine the date range that SAS2000 looks at as being a financial year. This allows for schools where the year runs from January to December and schools where the year runs from February to January.

For more information on using SAS2000 you can refer to the Tips & Tricks documents. An indexed document containing all the current Tips and Tricks documents is available for download from our current web site at http://www.humanedge.biz/sas2000/tipstricks.htm
