Outcomes Seminar for Principals

"OUTCOMES" is our latest program for student assessment and report writing.

This is a "web based" package enabling teachers to complete their student assessment reports from school, home or any place with Internet access. User names and passwords keep the student assessment and reporting information secure. Teachers do not need to take confidential student information away on their notebooks or floppy disks. Additionally, teachers only have access to their reports and students making the entry of information simple and efficient.

We will be holding lunchtime information sessions for Principals and other interested parties to show how this all works and the benefits for your school. These will commence in the week starting 23rd May 2005.

An email with more details will be sent to you shortly.

For more information on Outcomes contact Gary Stoneham on 03 9690 5044 or email info@humanedge.biz

Product Release

When a new release of SAS2000 is available an email is sent to the school, to inform you of its availability. Each release email contains a link to the Release Notes document for that release of SAS2000. The Release Notes document contains the details of the changes and new features that have been applied to SAS2000 in the new version.

You can get a copy of the Release Notes for SAS2000 version 5.0.915 from our website at:
http://www.humanedge.biz/sas2000/releasenotes.htm

The details of the changes in 5.0.915a are in the appendix of this document.

In this section of the newsletter we will review selected items from the latest release of SAS2000.

A Period Absences module was added to SAS2000.
Period Absences is an alternative to the Attendances module in SAS2000.
Period Absences enables you to record absences on the period basis that is appropriate to your school; e.g. an AM/PM system or a full secondary school program.
Period Absences has a more streamlined data entry screen to make entry of absences quicker.
Note: When Period Absences is switched on, the Attendance module in SAS2000 is switched off.
An email on the Period Absences module was sent to all schools on Wednesday 4 May 2005.
A Student Activities module was added to SAS2000.
The Student Activities module enables you to record all the co-curricular programs that students take part in, during or after school hours e.g. Music, Sports, Debating, After School Care, etc.
A number of reports are available on the students who are participating in the activities.
The Student Activities module links into the Billing module of SAS2000; so if required students can easily be billed for their activities.
An email on the Student Activities module was sent to all schools on Thursday 5 May 2005.
The remittance slip on the Statements had some formatting changes applied.
The area available for the school name to print has been increased; to allow for longer than average school names to print correctly.
The scissors icon was been removed from the dotted line of the remittance; as it was found in some cases to cause an error when a single statement was being printed.
The 'Amount Due' has been replaced with an 'Amount Paid' space; for the fee payer to record the amount being remitted.
Sandhurst Asset Register Import.
The import utility was been revised and can now handle the two different asset register formats we have identified with the Sandhurst Asset Register.
If you have previously been unable to import your Sandhurst Asset Register into SAS2000 we suggest you try again with this version.

A Welfare module is being added to SAS2000. The welfare module has 4 components:

Referrals Register.
Awards Register.
Incident Register.
Accident, Illness & First Aid Register.

Over the next 4 newsletters we will look at each one of the components of the Welfare module in turn.

In this newsletter we will look at the Referrals Register.

Referrals Register

The Referrals Register is used to record when students have been referred to 3rd parties; e.g. Speech Pathology.

The Referral record will record:

The referral details. The date of referral, which teacher referred the student, and the reason for the referral.
Notes. Any relevant details for the referral can be entered here, so they are centrally located.
Review details. The date and reason for the discontinuation of a referral and who authorised discontinuation.

There will be 2 reports for Referrals:

Referrals. This report will give a section for each student referral listing the details for the student, the referral information, any notes on the referral, and the review details. This report has the option to be printed as one page per referral.
Note: If a student has multiple referrals that meet the selection criteria for the report these will be listed together on the same page.
Referral Summary This report is a summary of the referral information. It gives one line of information per referral. The report lists basic Student details, the Referral Date, Referred by, Discontinued Date and Discontinued Authority. The report gives a total for the number of referrals listed on the report.

The options when running both reports will be:

Another selection option can be chosen from:
