Software Support - SAS2000 Accounting


Human Edge is a software development and services company located in South Melbourne, Victoria. Since 1983 we have developed and evolved a number of software products for schools, both Primary and Secondary. Schools now use SAS2000 for administration, First Class for timetabling and Pay3k for payroll with human resources. Recent product developments have been in student reporting – Reporter Pro and Parish administration – PACS.


Our support, implementation and training team do just that. They provide day–to-day telephone support to over 2000 schools and Parish’s using our products, along with implementing new installations and providing an on-going training program.


The software support position is a new and exciting position for someone to provide an effective and important contribution to our customers. The main duties in this new role are:


  • Telephone support to assist, diagnose or resolve difficulties with the usage of these products
  • Telephone support to help with administration or procedural issues in using these products
  • Assistance with all aspects of the implementation and integration for schools implementing these products
  • Record keeping and maintenance of a support log of all support requests and their outcomes
  • Analysis and collation of material, along with the recording of requests for changes to the software, including ideas and suggestions
  • Software testing and feedback for on-going product development
  • Assistance with preparation of documentation prior to the distribution of a new software version
  • Assistance with content preparation for e-mail newsletters and other announcements including marketing material
  • Participation in training activities for schools as well as direct support to where needed.

The successful applicant must have an enthusiastic and positive nature, a caring attitude towards our customers and an ability to explain software applications in easy to understand terms. Computer literacy is very important, as is the ability to work productively. Excellent skills in the use of standard office technology in Word, Excel and Outlook is required, as well as the ability to learn new applications easily and quickly.

You will also need to communicate clearly and effectively, have good organisation and time management skills, and enjoy working as part of a team while still accepting responsibility for your own tasks. These attributes must be able to be shown in a previous position(s) along with verbal and written references.
